Project title: Tuning Australia Pilot Project Coordinating institution: University of Groningen Dates: 30 July 2010 – 30 May 2011 Participant countries: Australia and Tuning methodology experts from Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and UK Project objectives: 1) Facilitate greater cooperation between key higher education stakeholders in Australia and the European Union 2) Share experiences of the Australian Standards Project and the European Tuning project to enable effective long-term outcomes for each project 3) Enable closer ties between academic discipline communities in Australia and Europe 4) Enable closer ties between higher education policy makers in Australia and Europe 5) Investigate the alignment of academic standards and reference points in higher education for Australia and Europe 6) Establish a foundation for the development of a shared understanding and language for Australian and European higher education stakeholders in their approaches to curriculum development, standards, qualifications frameworks and quality assurance .
