1.1) Workpackage 4 (WP4) 1st Cycle. This study invited key stakeholders to indicate, on a Likert scale, to what extent they thought students should have achieved each of these learning outcomes on successful completion of the first three years of university education in medicine (Bachelor of Medicine). The objective was to generate an agreed set of learning outcomes/competences for 1st cycle Bachelor degrees in medicine, which would link systematically with our Tuning outcomes for primary medical degrees (2nd cycle), specify an appropriate degree of vertical curriculum integration and address issues of employability through a competence-based approach.
1.2) Workpackage 7 (WP7) Research competences (for all 3 cycles). A research-based approach, developed by the Tuning project, was used previously by the MEDINE Thematic Network to gain consensus on core learning outcomes / competences for primary medical degrees, but no consensus was reached for learning outcomes relating to research. As part of MEDINE2, a focused Tuning project was undertaken to explore opinions on detailed core learning outcomes in research for all three Bologna cycles (Bachelor, Master, and Doctor).
1.3) Workpackage 3 (WP3) Tuning process. The objective is to produce a set of products directly linked to the Tuning learning outcomes for primary medical degree programmes in Europe œ the Tuning Toolkit. This will include everything that a medical school needs to evaluate their learning outcomes against the Tuning framework. The Task Force supports medical schools in using these products and applying the results to their educational programme in medicine (Tuning Process).
