Project title: Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes
Coordinating institution: Tuning Association
Dates: Tuning-AHELO – 2009, subsequent AHELO project itself – January 2010 – December 2012
Subject areas included in the project: Engineering & Economics
Project objectives: AHELO’s objective was to develop a test of university students comparable internationally. The focused on:
a) Generic skills common to all students (such as critical thinking, analytic reasoning, problem-solving, and written communication);
b) Discipline-specific skills in economics and engineering.
Tuning-AHELO project was undertaken at the outset of the AHELO feasibility study to reflect expected learning outcomes for the two disciplines chosen; to assess whether it would be possible to agree on the learning outcomes to be assessed.
