The University of Deusto participates in the DHIP project (Developing HEIs’ Internationalization Policies) in supporting the strengthening the capacity of Internationalization capacity at Latin American Universities
From 23 to 27 September, 17 representatives from 9 Latin American universities (Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, Universidad Nacional de Lanús and Universidad Nacional de Quilmes from Argentina, Uniempresarial, Universidad de Santander and Universidad Pedagógica Nacional from Colombia and Universidad Autónoma de Asunción, Universidad del Cono Sur de las Américas and Universidad Iberoamericana from Paraguay) meet at the Bilbao and San Sebastián campuses of the University of Deusto to work through a dynamic of workshops and presentations the following three lines: 1) the language of competences within the academic profiles, 2) the importance of credit based on the student workload and 3) the different models of double / joint degrees.
The DHIP project started in October 2018, within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme financed by the European Commission within the Capacity Building actions in the field of Higher Education will end in 2020. Its objective is to improve the internationalisation capacities of Latin American universities. Six countries participate in the project: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Paraguay and Colombia.
Two other Study Visits have been developed in two other European partner universities: Università di Pisa (Italya) and Universidade do Porto (Portugal). Each one focused on other particular aspects of internationalization. The participants at the Deusto-DHIP Study Visit Week have taken advantage of their stay in the city of Bilbao to carry out cultural activities facilitated by the Diputación Foral de Bilbao. They visited the Euskal Museoa de Gernika and the Guggenheim Museum.
